[Every effort was taken to remove any obvious bias (clearly, I failed) from the above assemblage of pictures, despite the familial connection between the photographer and one of his subjects. All images were taken using the built-in flash of a digital SLR and one lens, the photographer having arrived ill-prepared for such a magnificently fun event. Seriously, I left my home thinking I wouldn't even need a camera. This hodge-podge of images reflects the work of a man who forgot the simplest journalistic principle: be prepared.]

PS. Congratulations to the cast and director of Primal Instinct for their well-deserved award. Acknowledgment is also due to the other fine films presented.

WATCH THE WINNING FILM!
"Primal Instinct 3" (there is a "Primal Instinct 1" but no "PI 2") is a quest/buddy roadtrip tour-de-force (of a sort) where Monty Python meets the Coen Brothers, David Lynch, and Bill and Ted. Of course, being a high-school flick debuting at a high-school event, the film is filled with inside jokes and references. Regardless, it is good fun; and needless to say, when the curtain came down on the final minutes of "PI3", the cheers were deafening. (BTW, that's my son smashing swords in the snow on Norway Pond in Hancock, NH; and he's the fifth "singer" in the prison coda in the closing sequence.)
At the very least, you've got to check out "The Rain Song," written by Will Trowbridge and Nyiko Beguin and sung as they walk down Peterborough, NH's Main Street.
